FAQ’s
About Your Watch Questions
At Time Bomb Watches, we understand that purchasing a timepiece—especially a pre-loved luxury watch—comes with many questions. Below are answers to the most common inquiries we receive. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Purchasing & Authentication
How do I know the watches you sell are authentic?
All our pre-loved luxury watches undergo a rigorous authentication process performed by trained specialists. We verify serial numbers, examine movements, check for correct finishing details, and inspect documentation. We stand behind every watch we sell with our authenticity guarantee.
Do you accept trade-ins?
Yes, we consider watch trade-ins as part of our purchase process. The value of your trade-in will be assessed based on condition, market value, and authenticity.
Pre-Loved Watches
What condition are your pre-loved watches in?
We carefully grade each pre-loved watch and provide detailed condition descriptions. Our inventory ranges from “Like New” pieces with minimal signs of wear to “Vintage” watches with character and patina. Each listing contains specific condition information.
Do pre-loved watches come with box and papers?
When available, we include the original box, papers, and accessories with pre-loved watches. Our product descriptions clearly state what is included with each timepiece.
Have your pre-loved watches been serviced?
All our pre-loved watches have been inspected by our watchmakers. When necessary, we service watches to ensure they’re functioning properly. Service history is noted in the product description when available.
What kind of warranty comes with pre-loved watches?
We provide a 12-month warranty on all pre-loved watches unless otherwise stated. This covers manufacturing defects and mechanical issues but excludes damage from misuse.
How do you grade pre-loved watches?
We use a consistent 5-point grading system for all pre-loved timepieces:
Grade 1: BRAND NEW/UNWORN
Factory-fresh condition with no signs of wear. Original protective stickers may still be attached. Complete with all original accessories, box, and papers.
Grade 2: DEMO MODEL
As-new appearance with extremely minimal signs of wear. These watches may have been tried on or displayed briefly but show virtually no evidence of use.
Grade 3: EXCELLENT CONDITION
Minor signs of wear from normal use. May have light surface scratches on case or bracelet that could be easily removed with light polishing. All functions work perfectly.
Grade 4: GOOD/FAIR CONDITION
Noticeable signs of wear consistent with regular use. May have visible scratches on case, crystal, or bracelet. Functions properly but may benefit from servicing.
Grade 5: WELL WORN
Extensive signs of wear and aging. Significant scratches, potential dings, or evidence of previous repairs. May require service but remains functional and authentic.
This grading system applies to both watches we sell and those we purchase from clients. Our transparent grading ensures fair pricing and clear expectations for both buyers and sellers.
Selling Your Watch
How does the selling process work?
Contact us with details and clear photos of your watch. We’ll evaluate based on condition, market value, and authenticity. Once we agree on a price, we offer several payment options and can arrange shipping or in-person collection.
What brands do you buy?
We primarily purchase luxury brands such as Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Grand Seiko, Cartier, Patek Philippe, and similar tier brands. However, we consider all watches on a case-by-case basis.
How is the value of my watch determined?
We consider factors including brand, model, condition, age, rarity, market demand, included accessories, service history, and authenticity documentation.
Do I need the original box and papers to sell my watch?
While having the original box and papers significantly increases your watch’s value, we still purchase watches without these items. The price offered will reflect what is included.

Watch Care & Maintenance
How often should I service my luxury watch?
Most luxury mechanical watches should be serviced every 5-7 years, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations. Quartz watches typically require service every 5-10 years or when the battery needs replacement.
Is my watch water-resistant?
Water resistance varies by model and is specified in the product description. Note that water resistance can diminish over time and should be tested regularly if you plan to expose your watch to water.
How should I store my watch when not wearing it?
Store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For automatic watches, consider a watch winder to keep them running when not worn regularly.
Can you repair my watch?
